Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. She is the owner and president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California and was raised as part of a wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur in real estate who was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated after her parents split in 1972. As a 19-year-old she inherited the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. Then she founded in the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice president of the Lakers. Buss and her five sisters inherited the Lakers controlling ownership after the passing of Buss' father in 2013. Every sister was given an equal voice. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss was also a partner in the ownership of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling group).
